Rakan KKM Won't Burden Healthcare Workers

The Health Minister has once again reiterated that the new Rakan KKM initiative is 100% voluntary for medical personnel.

As such, healthcare workers who are deemed too busy will not be included.

This way, medical officers, specialists, or nurses will not be further burdened with additional tasks.

The minister also urged the public to refrain from speculating about the program's operational details, adding that a briefing on the matter will be held soon.

Separately, the ministry and the Johor government have reached a consensus on addressing healthcare issues in the state.

It says the action plan will mainly focus on staffing and facility issues, as well as enhancing capacity mid a shortage of manpower at Johor’s main public hospitals.

Met Malaysia says the current hot weather is predicted to continue until the end of the month.

It adds that despite temperatures hitting as high as 36 degrees Celcius in some areas, the heatwave is categorized as ‘normal’.

Over half of the workplace accident cases reported last year involved the manufacturing sector.

This, as the Occupational Safety and Health Department recorded over 4,400 cases nationwide until May of this year.

Malaysian citizens can enjoy visa-free entry to China for up to 30 days per visit starting today.

However, the cumulative duration of the stay must not exceed 90 days within any 180-day period.
