New Chief Justice Appointed

Court of Appeal Judge Datuk Wan Ahmad Farid Wan Salleh has been appointed the new Chief Justice of Malaysia.
He succeeds Tun Tengku Maimun Tuan Mat, who retired earlier this month upon reaching the mandatory retirement age.
The appointment was approved by His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia on the advice of the Prime Minister.
The official swearing-in ceremony will be held at Istana Negara on July 28th.

The Transport Ministry has given the MRT 3 project its final approval.
According to FMT, Transport Minister Anthony Loke formally signed off on the project yesterday.
Authorities will now begin the land acquisition process, while the project is targeted for completion by the end of 2026.
MRT3 is designed to serve as the final link in the Klang Valley MRT system, connecting major rail lines into a cohesive network.

The JPJ is planning to launch a rehabilitation course for commercial vehicle drivers whose licenses have been suspended.
The course is set to roll out in November...focusing on bus and lorry drivers.

Also, the department is stepping up efforts to keep serial traffic offenders and dangerous drivers off the road.
As such, it's in the final stages of overhauling the KEJARA traffic offence demerit system to make it more effective.

The Housing and Local Government Ministry will allocate three million ringgit to launch a landscape enhancement project at KLIA Terminals 1 and 2.
Work will begin later this month, as part of efforts to improve the airport for international visitors ahead of Visit Malaysia Year 2026.
