cops once again warn about cash aid scammers

Be careful of scam syndicates trying to take advantage of the recently announced 100 ringgit SARA assistance.

The police once again explained that they're expecting these syndicates to try and obtain personal and banking information under the guise of verifying aid eligibility.

Cops warn that perpetrators will typically impersonate government agency representatives by contacting victims through fake messages or phishing links via SMS, WhatsApp, or phone calls.

The Selangor government will review the progress of the reconstruction of homes damaged in the Putra Heights pipeline explosion, to ensure that repair work is running smoothly.

It also urged the public to be patient and understanding, because progress depends on the severity of the damage.

Currently, rebuilding work is nearly 24% complete.

The Investment, Trade, and Industry Ministry says the newly imposed 19% tariff on Malaysian exports to the US is considered reasonable.

It adds that although Malaysia had hoped for a lower rate, the final result is considered fair, as it was achieved without compromising the nation's core policies or sovereignty.
