gsf volunteers to return tomorrow

The Malaysian volunteers with the Global Sumud Flotilla are scheduled to return home tomorrow.

This, after all 23 of them were released from Israeli detention, and flown out to Istanbul via a special flight arranged with the assistance of the Turkish government.

Our Health Ministry says its on standby to provide comprehensive health screenings and treatment once the Malaysians are back on home soil.

The Women, Family and Community Development Ministry, meanwhile, is ready to offer counselling services and social support for the volunteers and their families.

The number of flood evacuees nationwide remains mostly unchanged from this morning.

According to the Social Welfare Department’s portal…there are still around 360 victims still seeking shelter at relief centers in Johor, Perak and Kedah.

In other news…police say a post-mortem on the Form Four student who collapsed during a rugby even in Ipoh, shows he died due to internal bleeding caused by a torn hip muscle.

Separately, cops have recorded statements from 35 individuals so far, in the case of a the 10-year-old boy who died after being found unconscious at a school toilet in Seremban.

KTMB will be adding two extra ETS services for the Padang Besar to KL Sentral route and vice-versa between October 17th and 22nd for the Deepavali travel period.
