The government supports efforts to raise the recent detention of Malaysian GSF volunteers and their mistreatment by Israeli forces, with the UN Human Rights Council.

Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hassan says we also want to make it clear, that the Global Sumud Flotilla did not enter Israel illegally, but was intercepted in international waters.

The minister adds that the issue of the Malaysian’s mistreatment will be brought up with Donald Trump, when the US president visits KL for the ASEAN Summit.

This, as the 23 Malaysian participants arrived safely back home, following their detention by the Israelis.

Hundreds of family members and well-wishers were on hand to welcome them at KLIA last night.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister is inviting Malaysians to join tonight’s Gaza Solidarity rally at the Axiata Arena to honour our GSF volunteers, and show support for the Palestinian struggle.

You may be approached for an ID check, while filling petrol under the Budi95 scheme.

The Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry says its officers are empowered to inspect consumers’ identity cards, to prevent misuse and ensure the smooth implementation of the initiative.

It adds that these checks are only carried out when necessary, adding that it continues to closely monitor petrol stations – especially in the Klang Valley – more than a week after the full rollout of Budi95.

The Malaysian Space Agency says there was nothing unusual about the bright lights and loud boom that was sighted over parts of Bintulu in Sarawak earlier this month.

It says the phenomenon was caused by a meteor entering the earth’s atmosphere, adding that there’ve been no reports so far of any meteor fragments detected in the state.

And, Penang has nominated 10 dishes including Nasi Kandar, Pasembor and Hokkien Mee for recognition as a National Heritage to help preserve the state’s rich culinary legacy.
