We can expect about five to seven episodes of heavy continuous rain during the North East Monsoon period, which is expected to occur between this November and March next year.

The Met Department says the biggest impact will be to Kelantan, Terengganu and Pahang between November and December.

Meanwhile, Johor, Sabah and Sarawak will be the hardest hit in the early part of next year.

Hardcore poverty has been nearly wiped out in Malaysia.

The Statistics Department says the country’s hardcore poverty rate now stands at just 0.09 percent thanks to various government initiatives.

At the same time it says the average household income also increased from just under RM8,000 in 2019 to RM9,155 last year.

The PM is set to meet with several NGO’s next week, to discuss sending a shipment of humanitarian aid to Gaza.

The meeting is to coordinate the best method and routes to get the shipments in…likely using the land crossings via Egypt.

In a related development, Wisma Putra says its already reached out to Turkiye and the US, to help secure the immediate release of nine Malaysian participants of the Freedom Flotilla, who’ve been detained by Israeli forces.

And…Donald Trump says Israel and Hamas have both agreed to the first phase of his plan to end the war in Gaza, which includes a ceasefire in the besieged territory.
