Nov 30, 2025

Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor has been sworn in for a second term as Sabah chief minister.
This, after his Gabungan Rakyat Sabah formed a coalition government together with Upko, Pakatan Harapan and five independents, in the wake of yesterday’s state election.
None of the parties managed to win a simple majority, with GRS taking 29 seats, Upko claiming two and PH winning just one seat.
Among the other major parties, Warisan won 25 seats…BN claimed six…Sabah STAR took two seats… while Perikatan Nasional won one.
DAP, meanwhile, suffered a wipeout, losing all eight of the seats it contested.
According to the Election Commission, voter turnout was at slightly over 64 percent…falling short of its 70 percent target.
In total, more than 1.14 million regular, early and postal voters cast their ballots.
