Online Games Need More Safety Features

Dec 12, 2025

online games need more safety features

Banning online games will not resolve the longstanding issue of child online safety.

The Communications Ministry says it's better to just equip these game platforms with more protection features.

It adds that child safety is an issue that requires efforts from all relevant parties, including activists and NGO's...not just game providers.

Earlier this year, a six-year-old boy in Batu Pahat was seriously injured after his older brother allegedly attacked him over the online game Roblox.

The Women, Family and Community Development Ministry has stressed that no one should be turned away from filing a police report because of their clothing.

As such, it's urging law enforcement to be more compassionate, and people-centered.

It said this in response to a recent incident where a woman was reportedly denied entry into a police station in Melaka to lodge a report... because she was wearing a short skirt.

The government has since issued a directive for the dress code at government departments to be reviewed...especially for emergency cases.

-

The government will establish a special committee to study a proposal to place the STPM and matriculation program under the Higher Education Ministry.

Earlier, officials explained that the proposal will help better coordinate the student evaluation and admission process for university entry

-

Melaka will present a proposal to the National Physical Planning Council next month, regarding its plan to build a bridge to Indonesia.

The Chief Minister explained that the bridge could cut travel time between the two countries to just around 40 minutes

-

And Thailand’s king has endorsed a request by the country’s Prime Minister to dissolve parliament...with a general election to be called within 45 to 60 days.
