Lee Zii Jia has ended Malaysia’s wait for a men’s singles title at the Badminton Asia Championships.

The pro shuttler defeated Indonesia’s Jonatan Christie in straight sets in yesterday’s final.

Zii Jia is the first Malaysian to win the men’s singles title at the tournament, since Datuk Lee Chong Wei back in 2016.

Meanwhile, fellow Malaysians Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik finished as runners up in the men’s doubles, after falling to a straight sets defeat to their Indonesian opponents.
