Biles And Verstappen Lead Laureus Nominations

Olympic gymnastics legend Simone Biles and Formula One champion Max Verstappen are among those shortlisted for the Laureus World Sports Awards.
Tennis stars Aryna Sabalenka and Carlos Alcaraz as well as pole-vaulter Mondo Duplantis are among the some of the other nominees for the Sportswoman and Sportsman of the Year honours.
Meanwhile, F1 constructors’ champions McLaren, La Liga giants Real Madrid and Euro 2024 winners Spain are among those in contention for the Team of the Year prize.
The winners will be announced at a ceremony in Madrid next month.

Nottingham Forest have booked a place in the FA Cup quarterfinals, after a 5-4 penalty shootout victory over Ipswich this morning.
Their fifth-round tie was level at 1-1 at the end of extra time.
Forest will next take on Brighton in the last eight of the competition.

Man City’s Nathan Ake is set for another spell on the sidelines after undergoing an operation on a fractured foot.
The defender has been restricted for just 18 appearances for City this season due to a string of short-term injuries.
