Liverpool is asking for Friday’s League Cup semifinal first-leg against Arsenal to be postponed.

Its because of a Covid-19 outbreak among the Reds’ squad…that also forced them to cancel yesterday’s training session.

Liverpool are also further stretched by the departure of Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and Naby Keita for the Africa Cup of Nations.

The EFL says its currently assessing Liverpool’s postponement request.

Real Madrid are reportedly no longer interested in signing Chelsea’s Antonio Rudiger.

Insiders say the defender’s wage demands are higher than what the Spanish club is willing to pay.

PSG, Bayern Munich and Juventus are the other sides said to still be interested in Rudiger – whose Chelsea contract expires in the summer.

Novak Djokovic has been medically exempted from having the compulsory Covid-19 vaccine to play at the Australian Open.

The exemption was granted by two separate panel of experts, but this was not enough to prevent a social media backlash against the purported special treatment for the world number one.

Sources say the exemption may have something to do with Djokovic’s recent Covid infection, which would allow him to defer taking the vaccine.
