Liverpool Not In EPL Pole Position

Feb 05, 2024

liverpool not in epl pole position

("We're not in pole position" said Jurgen Klopp, which makes sense since they play football and not F1)

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp admits his team are no longer in pole position in the Premier League title race.

Speaking after their 3-1 loss to Arsenal, Klopp says Man City are the favourites to retain the trophy.

City are currently in third place in the standings, 5 points behind leaders Liverpool, but they have two games in hand.

This means if City win both games, they will take a 1-point lead.

--

Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino says Blues fans have every right to be angry, after their shock 4-2 Premier League loss to Wolves.

However, he urged fans to keep on supporting his players, who are still young.

The result means that Chelsea are currently 15 points off the top four.

It has also led to increased speculation about Pochettino's long-term future at Stamford Bridge, with latest reports saying that he could soon get sacked.

--

Other reports claim that Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson was close to getting sacked this weekend, after their 4-1 loss to Brighton.

However, Palace's chairman decided against it, as the club are struggling to find  an immediate replacement.

--

And senior Ferrari chiefs have played down concerns of any potential clashes between Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton, once the former F1 champion joins the team next year.

This, following the bitter rivalry between Hamilton and then-teammate Nico Rosberg at Mercedes.
