Bayern Open Talks With Xabi Alonso

Mar 05, 2024

bayern open talks with xabi alonso

Bayern Munich have reportedly opened talks to sign Bayer Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso next summer.

According to German media, Bayern are 'cautiously optimistic’ about their chances of signing the Spaniard, who's also wanted by Liverpool.

Current Bayern boss Thomas Tuchel is leaving this summer over a disappointing campaign which has currently left them 10 points behind Leverkusen in the Bundesliga table.

Meanwhile, Liverpool have reportedly made Alonso their no. 1 target to replace the outgoing Jurgen Klopp.

--

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has played down any serious injury concerns for Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli, following this morning's 6-nil win over Sheffield United.

Arteta says Saka was withdrawn at half-time because he was suffering from an illness.

Meanwhile Martinelli was taken off mid-way through the second half due to a cut in his foot.

The Gunners will monitor their fitness ahead of this weekend's EPL match against Brentford.

--

Man United have reportedly decided to sell Jadon Sancho, once his current loan spell at Borussia Dortmund ends this summer.

According to reports, the sale will happen whether or not boss Erik ten Hag is still in charge of United.

--

And new reports say there is a clause in Max Verstappen's contract that allows him to leave Red Bull, if team adviser Helmut Marko were to quit.

This, amid rumours of growing tensions between Marko and Red Bull team principal Christian Horner.
