Arsenal Injury Crisis Widens

Feb 06, 2025

arsenal injury crisis widens

Gabriel Martinelli is Arsenal's latest injury concern, following their EFL Cup semifinal exit this morning.

The Gunners attacker had to be substituted in the first half of their 2-0 defeat to Newcastle due to a suspected hamstring problem.

A long layoff would add to their injury woes, as Gabriel Jesus and Bukayo Saka are also out injured, and they failed to sign reinforcements in last month's transfer window.

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglu is confident that new signing Mathys Tel will sign a permanent deal with Spurs at the end of the season.

The Frenchman joined Spurs on loan from Bayern Munich.

Separately, the Youth and Sports Ministry has received 28 complaints about various issues involving athletes over the past two years.

Of these reports, 11 of them are still active cases — including 4 complaints of sexual abuse — as well as physical and mental abuse and neglect.

To prevent such cases from happening again, the ministry says it has told all sports organisations to conduct background checks on prospective coaches and technical officials, especially those who will work with children.
