Carlo Ancelotti's was unable to get a winning start to his new job as Brazil's coach.  

This is after Brazil were held to a goalless draw against Ecuador in this morning's World Cup qualifier.  

Brazil remain in 4th place in the South American qualifying group with just three matches remaining.  

The top six gain automatic qualification.

Meanwhile World Cup defending champions Argentina sealed a 1-0 win over Chile in their qualifier.  

Julian Alvarez scored the winner for Argentina, who had already qualified for the tournament next year.

Inter Milan are reportedly close to appointing club legend Cristian Chivu as their new head coach, replacing Simone Inzaghi.  

The Romanian is currently in charge of Parma.  

During his time as an Inter player, Chivu won three Serie A titles, and was part of the squad that won the treble in the 2009-2010 season.

Second seeds Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei are a step closer to winning the mixed doubles title at the Indonesian badminton Open.  

The Malaysian duo needed 3 sets against their Danish opponents to reach the last-four. 

Meanwhile third seeds Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai crashed out.
