Jun 07, 2024

big hopes for paris olympics!

Expectations are high for our national shuttlers at the Paris Olympics.

BAM's president says he's confident that our players will peak at the Games.

He also condemned complaints that the country's players have been inconsistent at several World Tour tournaments, adding that it's not a good  measure of their skill.

Malaysia will have a total of five national reps at the Games this year, namely Lee Zii Jia, Goh Jin Wei, Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik, Pearly Tan/M. Thinaah, and Chen Tang Jie/Toh Ee Wei.

DPM Datuk Sri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has proposed that sponsors of sports associations and events should be eligible for tax deductions due to their contributions to the nation's sports development.

He adds that he'll bring up the matter with the Finance Ministry ahead of the 2025 national budget, which will be tabled in October.

And the FIA has officially unveiled the highly anticipated F1 2026 regulations, which will see the new cars become lighter, shorter, and narrower

Meanwhile, Ferrari's Carlos Sainz has played down rumors linking him with a move to Williams.

The F1 driver says nothing is locked in yet, and that more information will be revealed in due course.
