EFL Cup: Spurs Snatch Slim Advantage

Tottenham netted a late winner to snatch a 1-0 victory over Liverpool in the first-leg of the EFL Cup semifinal this morning.

Lucas Bergvall was the hero for Spurs, scoring the only goal of the game four minutes from time.

The midfielder is just shy of his 19^th birthday and is Tottenham’s youngest scorer in the competition since Gareth Bale back in 2007.

Barcelona are through to the Spanish Super Cup final after beating Athletic Bilbao 2-0.

The Catalan side now await the winners of tomorrow’s other semifinal between Real Madrid and Mallorca.

Closer to home…Malaysia’s Terengganu FC have picked up their first win in the group stage of the ASEAN Club Championship after beating Shan United of Myanmar 5-0.

In other developments…West Ham have sacked their manager Julen Lopetegui after just six months in charge with ex-Brighton and Chelsea boss Graham Potter set to replace him.

Man United midfielder Casemiro has reportedly received a 650 thousand pounds per week contract to join Saudi club Al Nassr this month.
