malaysia gets a seventh gold medal at the commonwealth games

Malaysia has ended the Commonwealth Games on a high…with four more medals on the final day of competition yesterday.

Pearly Tan and M Thinaah won the gold medal in the badminton women’s doubles.

The national pair put in an impressive performance to beat their English opponents in straight sets in the final.

We also picked up a silver through Ng Tze Yong in the men’s singles.

Nur Dhabitah Sabri and Syafiq Puteh contributed a bronze in the diving 3m mixed synchro event.

While another bronze came via Aifa Azman and Rachel Arnold in the women’s squash doubles.

This means Malaysia’s final tally stands at seven gold, eight silver and eight bronze…exceeding the initial target of six gold medals.

Chelsea are still unable to make headway in their attempt to sign Leicester City defender Wesley Fofana.

The Blues are believed to have already made two offers for the player – the latest said to be around 70 million pounds.

However, insiders say the Chelsea are still about 10 million off from Leicester’s asking price.

Separately, out-of-favour Chelsea striker Timo Werner is expected to undergo a medical in the coming hours, ahead of his return to former club RB Leipzig.

The deal is estimated at around 25 million pounds including add-ons.

Man United are reportedly working on a deal to bring Adrien Rabiot to Old Trafford.

The midfielder is in the final year of his contract with Juventus, and is widely expected to leave during the current transfer window.
