Ange: You Can Blame Me, But Not My Players

Feb 10, 2025

ange: you can blame me, but not my players

People are free to criticise the Tottenham manager for recent results, but they should leave his players alone.

Boss Ange Postecoglou says his team are trying their best amid their injury crisis.

The absence of key players means he has had to rely on youth players with little match experience, while his fit seniors have had little time to rest over the past couple of months.

He said this after their 2-1 FA Cup 4th-round loss to Aston Villa – their second cup exit in a matter of days, following their earlier defeat in the EFL Cup semis.

--

Joe Gomez is an injury doubt for Liverpool's mid-week Merseyside derby against Everton.

This is after the defender suffered a suspected hamstring injury in their FA Cup loss to Plymouth Argyle.

However, boss Arne Slot is confident that Gomez's injury is not too serious.

--

The Youth and Sports Ministry says it plans to introduce a sports talent transfer initiative, to ensure that young athletes are not restricted to just one single sport.

The initiative will make it easier for them to transition to another sport, if they don't make the cut in their original sport.
