The impending change to the international badminton calendar is a necessary evil.
Badminton Association of Malaysia secretary general Datuk Kenny Goh says the changes will increase costs for host venues.
However, it needs to be done to ensure the sport can continue to grow.
Under the new calendar, Super 1000 tournaments like the Malaysia Open will go will be extended to 11 days, while team events like the Thomas Cup will last 12 days.
