Athletes families could be banned from Olympics

Mar 10, 2021

athletes families could be banned from olympics

The proposed ban on foreign spectators at the Tokyo Olympics could include the families of competing athletes.

The Tokyo 2020 organising committee says it would be 'diificult' to allow family members to attend the games, due to ongoing global COVID-19 concerns.

Earlier reports said that the Japanese govt has decided to bar foreign spectators from attending the games.

However, exceptions could be made for overseas guests linked to Olympic sponsors.

Man City boss Pep Guardioa says he cannot guarantee more playing time for Sergio Aguero, before his contract expires at the end of the season.

He says Aguero is still not fully match-fit following a season plagued by injury and illness.

And because City are chasing an unprecedented quadruple of titles, there is little opportunity to ease the Argentine back into action.

The head of La Liga doubts that Liverpool's Mohamed Salah will move to Spain this summer.

Recent reports claimed that the Egyptian forward could leave Anfield amid their ongoing slump.

However, La Liga president Javier Tebas says this is unlikely, as Spanish clubs are still coping with the financial impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, and will not be able to afford his massive transfer fee.
