Real Madrid have booked their spot in the Champions League quarterfinals.

The Spanish giants defeated local rivals Atletico Madrid 4-2 on penalties, after their last16 tie ended level at 2-2 on aggregate.

There was some drama in the shootout, after Julian Alvarez's penalty for Atletico was disallowed. 

The ref ruled that he touched the ball twice after he slipped while taking his kick. 

Real will face Arsenal, who drew 2-2 with PSV Eindhoven to complete a 9-3 aggregate victory. 

Aston Villa are also through to the last eight, after beating Brugge 3-0 this morning and 6-1 on aggregate, and their next opponents are PSG.

Borussia Dortmund had a 2-1 win over Lille, to complete a 3-2 aggregate win.

Only two of our reps have won their matches at the All England badminton Championships last night. 

Women's doubles duo Pearly Tan – M. Thinaah advanced to Round 2, after beating their opponents from Chinese Taipei in three sets. 

Meanwhile, Goh Sze Fei – Nur Izzuddin had a straight sets win over their Korean rivals in the men's doubles. 

Four other Malaysians crashed out last night, including mixed doubles second seeds 

Chen Tang Jie – Toh Ee Wei, and the men's doubles duo of Azryn Ayub and Tan Wee Kiong.
