2 Reps Reach Japan Masters Semis

Malaysia will have two reps in the semifinals of the Japan badminton Masters tomorrow! 

Women’s doubles duo pearly Tan/M Thinaah cruised into the semis after defeating their opponents from Chinese Taipei in straight sets.  

Meanwhile, men’s doubles pair Goh Sze Fei/Nur Izzudin also booked their spot after beating their opponents in the quarters this morning.

Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff says there was too much unnecessary pressure placed on driver Kimi Antonelli after his strong performances early in the campaign. 

He says it’s important to give Antonelli time to adapt, because driving Formula 1 cars can be complicated, especially when it comes to managing tyres.  

The 18-year-old's early-season successes with the team included a sprint pole position in Miami and a podium finish in Canada.
