Tuchel May Spark Bidding War for Xabi Alonso

Liverpool could miss out on signing Bayer Leverkusen boss Xabi Alonso this summer.  

The Spaniard has been strongly linked with a move to Anfield, once Jurgen Klopp steps down.  

However, a new UK report claims that Alonso may prefer to join Bayern Munich instead. 

This, after Bayern confirmed that coach Thomas Tuchel will leave at the end of the Bundesliga season.

Besides Alonso, Bayern have also been linked with former Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane.  

The Frenchman has been without a club since he left Real in 2021.

Meanwhile, Jurgen Klopp has ruled out replacing Tuchel at Bayern.  

According to his agent, Klopp will take a year off from football once he leaves Liverpool, and the Bayern opening won't change his plans.

As for Tuchel, reports claim that he'd prefer to return to the Premier League.  

He's been linked with West Ham, who reportedly want him to replace David Moyes.
