European Leagues Want Standardised Transfer Window

Sep 23, 2024

european leagues want standardised transfer window

Europe's top football leagues are proposing a change to the summer transfer window, to ensure that it closes before the start of a new season.

According to reports, they believe that this will ensure that clubs have stable squads going into the new campaign.

Under the current system, the window stays open for a few weeks after the new season starts.

This often leads to last-minute transfers that would disrupt clubs' plans for the whole year.

Man City are currently sweating on Rodri's fitness.

This is after the midfielder was substituted in the first half of their 2-2 draw against Arsenal, due to a suspected knee injury.

Boss Pep Guardiola says for now it's still too soon to make a definitive statement on the issue.

Losing Rodri would be a huge blow for City, as stats say that City have won 75% of games in which he plays.

Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold is keeping tight-lipped about his long-term plans.

The right-back will be out of contract at the end of the season, and has been linked with Real Madrid.
