Everton Win The Merseyside Derby

Liverpool missed the chance to close the gap on the EPL leaders after suffering a surprise 2-0 defeat to Everton this morning.

It was the Reds second loss in three league matches and leaves them three points behind Arsenal at the summit.

They are also in danger of being overtaken by third-placed Man City -who are just one point behind Jurgen Klopp’s side with two games in hand.

In other selected EPL results…Man United fought back twice to beat Sheffield United 4-2.

While Newcastle suffered a 2-0 defeat to Crystal Palace.

Elsewhere, Atalanta defeated Fiorentina to make the final of the Coppa Italia…where they will next face Juventus.

Harry Kane says he has no plans to push for a Bayern Munich exit this summer…amid suggestions he could be seeking a return to the Premier League.

And, Barcelona boss Xavi has u-turned on his earlier decision to step down at the end of the season, now indicating that he will remain with the Catalan side until 2025.
