Harimau Malaya Players Get CAS Lifeline

Jan 27, 2026

harimau malaya players get cas lifeline

The seven Harimau Malaya players at the center of the naturalization controversy, have been cleared to return to football with immediate effect.

This comes after the Court of Arbitration for Sport granted them a stay of execution on their suspension and fine recently imposed by FIFA, amid investigations into the alleged use of doctored eligibility documents.

This means the seven are free to take part in all football-related activities until the CAS delivers its final verdict on the case.

Bayern Munich have taken steps to hold on to their star striker Harry Kane.

The German club’s sporting director says talks are already underway about extending the players contract, which expires in the summer of 2027.

The England captain has been on a fantastic run of form for the Bundesliga giants, scoring 119 goals since his arrival in 2023.

Kane himself has indicated that he’s prepared to remain with Bayern, adding that he’s starting to lose interest in a return to the Premier League.

-

Separately, Juventus are reportedly keeping tabs on two Premier League-based players.

Sources say the Serie A side is keen on signing Liverpool winger Federico Chiesa and Man United forward Joshua Zirkzee…with a week to go before the close of the January transfer window.

-

In this morning’s only Premier League match… Everton salvaged a 1-1 draw with Leeds to move up to tenth in the standings.

-

And Australian Open organisers have postponed some of today’s matches, delayed others, and moved some into cooler stadiums…with temperatures expected to reach up to 42 degrees Celsius during the Grand Slam.
