Malaysian athletes at the Commonwealth Games have been reminded not to let their guard down against Covid-19.

The head of the national contingent says participants have been reminded to maintain SOP’s…even though the situation in England is more relaxed.

Meanwhile, he says 40 Malaysian athletes and six officials will represent the national contingent, at tomorrow’s opening ceremony.

Man United have completed the signing of Ajax defender Lisandro Martinez in a deal that could reach as high as 57 million pounds.

The 24-year-old will reunite with United boss Erik Ten Hag, who signed him on to the Dutch club back in 2019.

Martinez is the Red Devil’s third signing of the summer after Tyrell Malacia and Christian Eriksen.

UEFA will test out safe standing at European club competitions in England, Germany and France this season.

Its part of a trial run to see if it can be permanently re-introduced in European football.

UEFA has not allowed standing at football grounds since 1988 due to safety reasons.

Borussia Dortmund is the latest club after Juventus, RB Leipzig and Newcastle…to be linked with a move for Chelsea striker Timo Werner.

The German is said to be keen on a summer exit, to improve his chances of getting selected for the World Cup later this year.
