Man City extend their EPL lead as Chelsea stumble

Man City have gone eight points clear at the top of the EPL standings.
The leaders survived a strong challenge from Brentford to win 1-0 with Phil Foden scoring the winner.
The result means City have now won every Premier League game they’ve played in December.

Elsewhere, Danny Welbeck scored an injury-time equalizer as Brighton held Chelsea to a 1-1 draw.
Despite the dropped points, Chelsea move up to second in the table, one point ahead of Liverpool, who have a game in hand.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has contracted Covid for a second time.
It means he will miss The Gunners EPL match against Man City on New Years day.
Arteta is the latest manager after Steven Gerrard and Patrick Vieira to contract the coronavirus in the past week.

Former Chelsea captain John Terry has confirmed that he is returning to the club to be a coaching consultant at the Blues’ academy.
Terry has been without a job since stepping down as Aston Villa assistant coach in July.

The BAM’s singles coaching director has responded to speculation that Lee Zii Jia could be quitting the national setup.
Wong Choong Hann says there have been no talks over the matter so far…adding that as it stands, Zii Jia remains under the BAM’s management.
This comes following rumours that Zii Jia may have received a lucrative offer to play as a professional shuttler.
