Amorim: My Squad Lacks Depth

Dec 31, 2025

amorim: my squad lacks depth

Man United boss Ruben Amorim admits his squad lacks depth to cope with a major injury crisis.

This, as United are struggling to perform amid injuries to key players including Bruno Fernandes, Mason Mount and Kobbie Mainoo.

United are also having to cope without Bryan Mbeumo (m-boo-mo) and Amad Diallo, who are on international duty at the Africa Cup of Nations.

He said this after their 1-all Premier League draw with bottom-ranked Wolves – a side that has not won a single match all season.

--

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has praised the return of Brazilian duo Gabriel Magalhaes (Ma-gal-yaes) and Gabriel Jesus (Jeh-zoos) to the pitch after their injury layoffs.

Both Gabriels scored a goal each in this morning’s 4-1 win over Aston Villa, which extended the Gunners lead over Man City to 5 points.

--

Former Arsenal striker Pierre Emerick Aubemeyang seems to have played his last international match.

This, after he was ruled out for Gabon’s final African Cup of Nations group match against Ivory Coast due to injury.

The tournament is expected to be the 36-year-old's last international competition, as Gabon have no chance of reaching the last-16, while they have also failed to qualify for next year's World Cup.
