BAM selects Chong Wei's replacement for Asian Games

Jul 26, 2018

BAM has named Datuk Lee Chong Wei's replacement for the upcoming Asian Games in Indonesia.

The association says his place will be taken by 21-year-old Cheam June Wei, who's best achievement so far is winning last year's Dutch Open.

Chong Wei pulled out of the Asian Games and the World Championships, due to a respiratory illness.

Initially, it was believed that Chong Wei's spot would be given to Iskandar Zulkarnain, but he too has been ruled out due to injury.
