COVID-19: Organisers seek smaller-scale Tokyo Marathon

Feb 17, 2020

Reports say the Tokyo Marathon could be held at a smaller scale, to limit the race's impact on the coronavirus outbreak.

Instead of opening the race to the general public, organisers COULD limit the run to elite athletes only.

This will reduce the number of participants from 38 thousand, to only 200.

The run, on March 1st, is a warm-up event to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Man United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has hit back at Paul Pogba's agent, after he said that the midfielder will leave if they miss out on next season's Champions League.

Mino Raiola was quoted as saying that United's lowly league position does not fit with Pogba's ambitions.

In response, Solskjaer said that the club will determine Pogba's future, not Raiola.

New reports suggest that Pep Guardiola will stay on as Man City's manager, even IF they have to sit out the Champions League for the next two years.

There was speculation about Guardiola's future at the club, after Uefa handed them a ban for breaching Financial Fair Play rules.

This in turn led to speculation that he could walk away this summer, if City's appeal against the penalty fails.
