Emiliano Sala search team recover body from plane wreckage

Feb 07, 2019

UK authorities have recovered a body from the wreckage of the plane, that was carrying new Cardiff signing Emiliano Sala.

However, details on the body's identity have yet to be released.

A search on Sunday found the aircraft on the seabed off one of the Channel Islands, almost two weeks after it went missing.

The flight had been carrying Sala and his pilot from France to Wales, ahead of his move to Cardiff.

Meanwhile, reports suggest Sala's former club Nantes have asked Cardiff to pay his 15 million-pound transfer fee.

The 28-year-old Argentine was Cardiff's record signing, but he never got to play for the club.

The fee was due to be paid over three years, but Cardiff have withheld the first scheduled payment, until they are satisfied with the documentation.
