The sports world is mourning for the passing of football legend and World Cup winner Diego Maradona.

The former Argentina captain and manager died at the age of 60 after suffering a heart attack at his home in Buenos Aires.

The ex-Napoli, Barcelona and Boca Juniors star is widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all time.

Football stars past and present have taken to social media to offer their condolences, including Pele, Lionel Messi, and Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Argentinean government has declared three days of national mourning while all European games this week will observe a minute’s silence to mark the legend’s passing.

Reds stunned

Atalanta scored twice in four minutes to pull off a shock 2-0 Champions League win over Liverpool at Anfield this morning.

The result leaves the Reds needing a win from their final two group matches to ensure qualification into the last-16.

Meanwhile, Man City booked their place in the knockout round after beating Olympiakos 1-0.

Bayern Munich are also through following their 3-1 win over RB Salzburg.

In other selected results, Real Madrid defeated Inter Milan 2-0

Atletico Madrid and Lokomotiv Moscow played out a goalless draw.

While Ajax defeated Midtjylland 3-1.

Zlatan considering international comeback
