Leicester City missed the chance to share top spot in the Premiership after they suffered a surprise 2-1 defeat to Fulham.

The victory lifts the Cottagers out of the relegation zone, while the Foxes remain in fourth spot.

Meanwhile West Ham moved up to fifth in the standings, after beating Aston Villa 2-1.

The match was decided by yet another controversial VAR call…that ruled out a Villa equalizer in injury-time for a marginal offside.

Holders Arsenal have been drawn to face Newcastle in the third round of the FA Cup.

Other interesting matchups will see Man United entertain Watford, Aston Villa will take on Liverpool while Man City are up against Birmingham.

Matches will be played on the weekend of January 8th.

Klopp supports concussion substitutions

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is the latest to support calls for clubs to be allowed additional temporary substitutions for cases where a player suffers a concussion.

It comes following an incident in yesterday’s Arsenal-Wolves game, where David Luiz and Raul Jimenez suffered a clash of heads.

Jimenez was stretchered off, but Luiz carried on playing with blood seeping from his bandages...leading to complaints that the Arsenal defender should not have been allowed to continue.

Thursday’s game between Juventus and Dynamo Kiev will go down in history, as the first ever Champions League tie to be officiated by a female referee.

French official Stephanie Frappart will take charge of the match – having previously also officiated a Europa League tie and the 2019 Women’s World Cup final.
