Holders Man City ease into the EFL Cup quarters

Holders Man City are through to the quarterfinals of the EFL Cup after a 3-0 win over Burnley.

Raheem Sterling netted twice before summer signing Ferran Torres netted his first goal for the club to complete a comfortable victory.

In other results, Man United defeated Brighton also 3-0 with Scott McTominay, Juan Mata and Paul Pogba all getting on the scoresheet.

Elsewhere, Newcastle beat Newport 5-4 on penalties after the match ended 1-1 in regulation time.

While Everton thrashed West Ham 4-1.

Bayern make it five for 2020

Bayern Munich have won their fifth title of the year with a 3-2 victory over Borussia Dortmund in the German Supercup.

Its the fourth time in five years they've won the showcase match.

Bayern now add the Supercup to the Bundesliga title, the German Cup, Champions League and UEFA Supercup that they've already won in 2020.

Williams pulls out

Serena Williams will have to wait a while longer for a record-equalling 24th Grand Slam title. 

This, after the American was forced to pull out of the ongoing French Tennis Open due to an Achilles injury.
