Jadon Sancho scores first career hat-trick

Jun 01, 2020

England’s Jadon Sancho has scored his first-ever hat-trick, as Borussia Dortmund thrashed Paderborn 6-1 in the Bundesliga.

The 20-year-old is the first English player to score an OVERSEAS hat-trick in one of Europe's major leagues for 31 years, with the last from former Luton forward Brian Stein in a Ligue 1 match.

During the match, Sancho was also booked for removing his jersey in support of American George Floyd, who died after being arrested by police outside a shop in Minneapolis, US last week.

The result leaves Dortmund second in the standings, seven points behind leaders Bayern Munich.

Man Utd still fighting for Odion Ighalo loan extension

Manchester United are reportedly close to agreeing a loan extension for striker Odion Ighalo.

United are still in talks with Ighalo's parent club Shanghai Shenhua, and it is hoped a deal can be reached before the Nigerian's current loan deal expires in just a few hours.

The proposed loan extension will run until the end of January, which means Ighalo will miss the majority of the 2020 Chinese Super League season, which is scheduled to begin this month.

Planned two British F1 GPs looks promising

The Silverstone circuit looks set to stage two Formula 1 races this summer, with the UK government expected to give participants an exemption from quarantine rules.

Britain will introduce a 14-day self-isolation period for travellers arriving in the country from next week, and with the F1 season due to start less than a month later, there were fears that Silverstone wouldn't be able to host any races.

However, the government is now expected to confirm an exemption from the measure to F1 teams, meaning the behind-closed-doors events should go ahead.

The races are expected to be the fourth and fifth events on the calendar, in August, with the dates set to be confirmed in the coming days.
