Lewis Hamilton stands by his social media comments

Oct 25, 2019

Lewis Hamilton has defended his use of social media, to raise awareness about global environmental issues.

The Mercedes driver has been accused of hypocrisy because of his role in Formula 1, and the high number of flights he takes every year.

Speaking ahead of the Mexican GP, Hamilton admits that his lifestyle doesn't really reduce our carbon footprint, but that doesn't mean he can't speak out for positive change.

The five-time world champion has rejected the criticisms, saying everyone could do more to protect the environment.

Meanwhile, you can catch the first practice session for the Mexican GP, LIVE on Astro Channel 815 from 11pm.
