Liverpool could win EPL at Anfield after all

Jun 02, 2020

Liverpool may win the EPL title at Anfield after all.

Earlier reports said that Liverpool’s key matches at their home stadium could be moved to neutral venues, to reduce the risk of large crowds gathering outside Anfield amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

This includes the derby against Everton as well as any matches where they could secure the EPL title.

However, police now say they have enough manpower to manage the crowds effectively.

This means neutral venues will only be used for Liverpool’s AWAY matches, against Man City and Newcastle.

Man United to fork out £10 million for Odion Ighalo's extended loan deal

The deal to extend Odion Ighalo’s loan spell at Man United will reportedly cost them £10 million.

Ighalo’s initial loan from Shanghai Shenhua expired at the end of May, but United were keen to extend the move further.

The new deal will keep Ighalo at Old Trafford until January 2021.

United do not have an obligation to buy the 30-year-old, when the new loan deal comes to an end.

FIFA: Use "common sense" if punishing players for protesting George Floyd death

FIFA has urged football associations to "common sense" when considering whether to punish players for protesting the death of African American George Floyd by a white police officer.

This is after the German FA said it may punish several players, including Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho, for staging demonstrations during last weekend’s matches.

Sancho was yellow carded for removing his shirt to reveal a tribute to Floyd.
