Man City extend their EPL lead

Man City have extended their lead at the top of the EPL standings with a comfortable 2-0 win over Burnley.

This was City’s 13th successive victory in all competitions, and leaves them three points clear of Man United at the top of the table, with a game in hand.

Meanwhile, Liverpool suffered their second successive league defeat at home, after falling to a surprise 1-0 loss to Brighton at Anfield.

The result leaves the defending champions fourth in the standings, seven points adrift of the leaders.

In other results...

Leicester defeated Fulham 2-0.
Everton overcame Leeds 2-1.
While West Ham beat Aston Villa 3-1.

Barca survive scare

Barcelona are thru to the semifinals of the Copa Del Rey, coming from two goals down to beat Granada 5-3 after extra-time.

Barca were two minutes away from being eliminated, before staging a late fight-back.

Antoine Griezmann was the hero for the Catalan side…with two goals and two assists.

More Covid woes for Australian Open

Up to 600 players, officials and support staff at the Australian tennis Open have been sent back into isolation, after a worker at one of the event’s quarantine hotels tested positive for Covid-19.

All will be free to return to the competition once they’ve tested negative for the coronavirus.

Officials also say that at this stage…there is no impact on the Grand Slam, which begins this coming Monday.
