National mixed doubles duo Chan Peng Soon-Goh Liu Ying lost in their opening match at the German Badminton Open.
Goh Jin Wei and Soniia Cheah suffered a similiar fate in the women's singles.
However, Goh V Shem and Tan Wee Kiong have made the cut to round 2 of the men's doubles category.
