Ronaldo and Messi ruled out for Ballon d'Or

Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi will both reportedly miss out on a place in the final three, for the prestigious Ballon d'Or award.

Real Madrid's Luka Modric is the favourite to take home the honour, and is expected to be joined in the running by teammate Raphael Varane, and PSG star Kylian Mbappe.

This means there will be a new winner for the first time since 2007, as Ronaldo and Messi had each won the award five times over the past 10 years.

Chelsea midfielder N'Golo Kante has signed a new contract, which will keep him at Stamford Bridge until 2023.

Bottas 'not worried' about Mercedes 2020 seat

Mercedes' Valtteri Bottas says he's not worried about losing his driver's seat with the team, after the 2019 season.

This, amid reports that Mercedes could be holding the seat open for Force India youngster Esteban Ocon for 2020.

Bottas has admitted that 2018 was his worst-ever F1 season, but has vowed to up his game next year, to keep his place with Mercedes.
