Spain labours to victory in Euro qualifier

Spain laboured to a 2-1 win over Norway in their opening Euro 2020 qualifier.

The game was headed for a draw, when Joshua King scored a penalty for Norway, to cancel out Rodrigo's opener.

However, Sergio Ramos netted a penalty of his own, late in the match, to seal the win.

Meanwhile, Italy defeated Finland 2-nil 
Switzerland beat Georgia 2-nil 
Ireland pipped Gibraltar 1-nil 
And Sweden edged Romania 2-1

Pro shutllers could represent Msia at the Sudirman Cup?


BAM is not ruling out calling up professional doubles players, Goh V Shem-Tan Wee Kiong and Chan Peng Soon-Goh Liu Ying  for upcoming the Sudirman Cup in China

It says this depends on the form of the current players in the national body. 

This, as Malaysia was handed a tough draw for the tournament, as we were drawn alongside second seeds China and as well as India.

Lee Zee Jia: I'm not under extra pressure 

Lee Zee Jia says he's not feeling any additional pressure, following Datuk Lee Chong Wei's withdrawal from next month's Msian badminton Open. 

According to the Star, the young national shuttler says he's ready to shoulder the burden in the men's singles. 

This comes nearly a week after doctors advised Chong Wei to pull out of the tournament, to avoid putting his body under undue stress.
