Suresh on target at World Championships

S. Suresh has created history, becoming Malaysia's first ever world para-archery champion.

He took the gold medal in the recurve event at the World Archery Para Championships in the Netherlands, beating his American opponent in the final.

This is Malaysia's best-ever showing at a major para archery meeting, after Hasihin Nawawi won silver at the 2012 London Paralympics.

First Nations League winners

Portugal have won the inaugural Nations League tournament. 

They beat The Netherlands 1-0 in the final this morning, with Goncalo Guedes netting the only goal of the game on the hour mark.

This is Portugal's second trophy in three years, having also won Euro 2016.

Meanwhile, England finished third in the tournament, beating Switzerland 6-5 on penalties after their third-place playoff ended goalless.

Rafa rules on clay

Rafa Nadal has lived up to his nickname 'The King of Clay'...winning the French tennis Open for the 12th time.

He beat Dominic Thiem in four sets in the final to become the first player to win 12 singles title at the same Grand Slam. 

This is also Nadal's 18th Grand Slam title, leaving him two adrift of Roger Federer on the all-time list.

Canadian controversy

Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton benefited from a five-second penalty for Sebastian Vettel, to win the Canadian F1 GP.

Vettel - who was penalised for dangerous driving - ended up second, ahead of Ferrari teammate Charles LeClerc.
