Tottenham have moved up to second in the Premiership table, after a convincing 3-nil win over Cardiff.

Harry Kane, Christian Eriksen and Son Heung Min all got on the scoresheet, to help Spurs bounce back from their shock defeat to Wolves on the weekend.

The result closes the gap between Tottenham and leaders Liverpool to six points, but manager Mauricio Pochettino says his side needs to work harder, if they are to fight for the title.

"We need to find a way to be consistent if we want to be a contender. I still think we are in a good position, but we are not real contenders. We need to believe more in ourselves... we need to more consistency if we want to be contenders"

Elsewhere, Arsenal recorded a 4-1 home win over Fulham, in what was only the Gunners second victory in six matches.

The result leaves them in fifth place, two points off the top four.

Another result saw Everton slump to their fourth loss in five league matches, with a 1-nil defeat to Leicester at Goodison Park.
