West Ham Sack Pellegrini

Dec 29, 2019

West Ham have sacked manager Manuel Pellegrini following their 2-1 Premier League defeat to Leicester.

The result left the Hammers in 17th place, just one point above the relegation zone.

Former Everton and Man United boss David Moyes is one of the favourites to replace Pellegrini,

If confirmed, this would be Moyes's 2nd spell at the Hammers, following a 6-month spell in the 2017-2018 season.

Former Arsenal boss Unai Emery is also a leading candidate.

Man United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer he dropped Paul Pogba for their Premier League clash against Burnley, due to concerns about his fitness.

Pogba's absense had raised eyebrows as he had featured in United's last two league games, after recovering from an ankle problem.

However, Solskjaer says the Frenchman WILL play in their next match, against Arsenal on New Year's Day.

United defeated Burnley 2-nil this morning, to move up to 5th place on the EPL table.

The Red Devils are now just 1 point behind 4th placed Chelsea.

Andy Murray has withdrawn from next month's Australian tennis Open because of a pelvic injury.

Murray hopes to return to action in February.

The Brit was just recently awarded the ATP Comeback of the Year prize, following his return from hip replacement surgery.
