Wimbledon urged to consider rule changes

Jul 05, 2017

Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic have urged Wimbledon adopt some of the rules implemented in the ATP.

This, after both their opponents, along with 5 other players retired in their first round Wimbledon matches.

They're suggesting that Wimbledon allow injured players to keep the first round money, while giving up their spot to a loser from qualifying.

First-round losers at Wimbledon earn 35,000 pounds this year, which reportedly could encourage some players to play despite knowing they're not fit enough.
