Youth and Sports Ministry sets gold medal target for Asian Games

Aug 10, 2018

The Youth and Sports Ministry says our national contingent has been set a target of winning seven gold medals at next week's Asian Games.

If the target is achieved, it would surpass our five-gold medal haul from the 2014 Games in South Korea.

Minister Syed Saddiq Abdul Rahman, however, is confident that our athletes can bring home as many as 11 golds.

Among the sports that are expected to contribute to our medal tally include cycling, taekwando and karate.
