FIFA, UEFA suspend Russian clubs and national teams
Mar 01, 2022
All Russian football clubs and national teams have been suspended from FIFA and UEFA tournaments.
It follows the country’s recent invasion of Ukraine.
It means Russia will not be allowed to play their 2022 World Cup playoff matches next month, while the women’s team have been barred from Euro 2022.
Spartak Moscow have also been kicked out of the EUROPA League competition, with their last-16 opponents RB Leipzig to advance into the quarters.
Man United interim boss Ralf Rangnick is apparently not a fan of Cristiano Ronaldo.
UK reports say Rangnick is only playing Ronaldo because of a lack of attacking options, and even feels the Portuguese’s presence is hindering the team in other departments.
According to sources, the interim boss does not think that Ronaldo should have a role at the club next season…adding to speculation about a possible summer exit.
Real Madrid have reportedly made the signing of Kylian Mbappe their top priority.
Sources say the La Liga giants will not start work on any other transfers…until they can finalize a summer move for the PSG striker.
Mbappe has yet to agree to a new PSG contract, despite his current deal expiring at the end of the season.
There is speculation that Farah Ann Abdul Hadi may have quit gymnastics.
Coaches have confirmed to Astro Arena, that the 27-year-old Olympian had stopped training with the national team two weeks ago.
They are not ruling out the possibility that Farah Ann is done with the sport, having earlier spoken about retiring after the Tokyo Games.
