Lee Zii Jia has ended Malaysia’s wait for a men’s singles title at the Badminton Asia Championships.
The pro shuttler defeated Indonesia’s Jonatan Christie in straight sets in yesterday’s final.
Zii Jia is the first Malaysian to win the men’s singles title at the tournament, since Datuk Lee Chong Wei back in 2016.
Meanwhile, fellow Malaysians Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik finished as runners up in the men’s doubles, after falling to a straight sets defeat to their Indonesian opponents.
Arsenal have reclaimed fourth spot in the EPL standings after a hard-fought 2-1 win over West Ham.
The Gunners now hold a two-point lead over Tottenham…who recorded a 3-1 victory over Leicester.
Meanwhile, relegation-threatened Everton boosted their survival hopes, with an impressive 1-nil win over Chelsea at Goodison Park.
It leaves the Toffees within two points of the safety zone.
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has slammed his players for making too many individual mistakes in their surprise defeat to Everton.
He reckons the Blues have become too easy to play against – posting four wins and four defeats in their last nine matches.
